Wellington sits at the convergence of State Highways 1 and 2, which join to become the Wellington Urban Motorway. Wellington’s waterfront lies just to the north and east of the city centre, stretching from Oriental Parade in the east to Queen’s Wharf in the north and make excellent day trips by hire car.
